(Nieuwste Hits) – De Ierse singer-songwriter CMAT keert terug met nieuwe muziek. Haar nieuwe single Take A Sexy Picture Of Me is de tweede track van haar aankomende album EURO-COUNTRY, dat op 29 augustus verschijnt via AWAL. De track volgt op het eerder uitgebrachte Running/Planning en laat een andere, confronterende kant van CMAT horen.
Geen ruimte meer voor schaamte
In Take A Sexy Picture Of Me rekent CMAT af met de schoonheidsnormen die via sociale media worden opgelegd. Ze zingt over de constante druk om aan verwachtingen te voldoen. Volgens haar zijn vrouwen online continu zichtbaar en dus kwetsbaar voor kritiek. “Iedere vrouw krijgt ermee te maken, ongeacht hoe ze eruitziet,” aldus CMAT.
De zangeres verwerkt die frustratie in scherpe teksten en een melodie die zowel aanstekelijk als pijnlijk eerlijk is. “Die song is een oproep aan iedereen die ooit iets te zeggen had over mijn lichaam of uiterlijk,” vertelt ze.
